Frequently Asked Questions About Subscriptions

  1. Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?
    1. Yes, when you complete the subscription process, you will receive a user name and a password.
    2. You are the only one licensed to use this password.
  2. Why should I get a member subscription to RESPIRATORY CARE?
    1. AARC Members/Individual Subscribers have access to:
      • Tables of contents, abstracts, full text searching, full text display, document delivery, PDFs, links to Medline and GenBank, future tables of contents, interjournal links to other HighWire Press journals, and the advantage of having password access to RESPIRATORY CARE.
    2. Without a subscription you have access to:
      • Tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching at no cost and without having to register.
  3. How can I tell if my institution has subscribed? How do I get my institution to subscribe?
    1. If your institution has a paper subscription, it will be eligible to have an electronic version of the journal as well. In so doing, you will automatically have access to the tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full text display, PDFs, Medline and GenBank links, and future tables of contents. You'll also see a button at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.
    2. Institutions must have hardcopy subscriptions to receive the electronic version of RESPIRATORY CARE.
  4. Will I still be able to get the paper version? 
    1. Yes, individuals and institutions will continue to be able to receive the paper version for the foreseeable future.
  5. How can I access RESPIRATORY CARE?
    1. You may apply for AARC membership or you may  purchase an individual (non-member) subscription which provides access to the electronic version.
  6. How do I become a member of the AARC?
    1. Join or renew your membership.
