In the editorial “Circumstances When Arterial Blood Gas Analysis Can Lead Us Astray” by Tyler J Albert and Erik R Swenson (Respir Care 2016;61[1]:119–121) there was an error in the text.
Page 120 states that “respiratory academia” is a cause for lower hemoglobin oxygen saturation than would be normally predicted from the PaO2. It should read “respiratory acidemia.”
