2017, Disease-a-MonthCitation Excerpt :Relapsing polychondritis is an inflammatory disease of the cartilage which affects respiratory system in 50% of the cases over the lifetime, leading to significant morbidity and mortality.39 Respiratory involvement portends to a worse prognosis for the disease.40,41 Vascular rings, malformations such as double aortic arch, right aortic arch with an aberrant left subclavian vessel may cause pressure over the trachea and uncommonly lead to TBM (Fig. 4).42
