    Serum uric acid (UA) levels of subjects with high-, intermediate-, and low-risk pulmonary thromboembolism. Median (interquartile range) serum UA levels were 6.9 (4.8–8.1), 5.5 (4.4–7.65), and 4.3 (3.4–5.8) mg/dL in subjects with high-, intermediate-, and low-risk pulmonary thromboembolism, respectively. Boxes represent the 25th and 75th percentile, and lines denote the median UA levels. Whiskers represent the minimum and the maximum values of the risk groups.
