INACCURACY OF ANAESTHETIC FLOWMETERS CAUSED BY STATIC ELECTRICITY

An account is given of types of anaesthetic flowmeters, and it is shown that sticking of the flowmeter bobbin due to accumulation of static electricity may cause a flowmeter inaccuracy of 35 per cent as an average. Possible precautions against this cause of error are discussed.
